TalentProjX NPO
We empower youth with skills and confidence to create value for their communities
What we do
TalentProjX helps talent from less privileged communities to develop self-belief, problem solving, and project leadership skills in order to become the agents of their futures rather than the victims of circumstance.
We give you the skills and positive attitude to help you to achieve your dreams and ambitions.
TalentProjX NPC achieves this through a 5 week full time Entrepreneurship Development Course. The course is an intense experience where participants learn and internalise new skills and ways of thinking. Specifically we teach the theory of the Learning Curve, Design Thinking, Agile, and Scrum. These are world leading approaches to personal agency, solving difficult problems, and leading a team to get challenging tasks done.
By the end of TalentProjX, our innovators are:
Self confident. They have taken responsibility for a number of meaningful projects in their own community and taken those projects from conception all the way through to successful completion.
Problem solvers. They have learnt how to solve complex problems using Design Thinking. Their abilities to understand their customers, think critically, and to generate genuine solutions have been constantly practiced through intense Design Sprints throughout the five weeks of the course.
Team players. They have worked as a team, sometimes small sometimes large, always learning how to contribute and how to get the best out of themselves and others. Their approach to leadership and team work has been guided by the empowering approach of Scrum Project Leadership.
Leaders. They have successfully completed a large variety and quantity of team tasks including one meaningful project, chosen by them, in their own communities. They have practised project leadership skills using a world leading Scrum approach popularised by scrum.org.
Meaningful Project. Our definition of success for our innovators' projects is to build a useful and usable solution to the problem that they want to solve and to get their solution adopted by the users of the problem.
Adoption. Adoption means that their customers not only pay once to try out the solution but find it so convenient and successful that they return for more. This is a significant challenge to achieve during the last week and a half of the course.
Trust the process. We have found that teams who: trust and engage with the process, do a great job of understanding the users of their problem, and are open to generating and reflecting on customer feedback, are consistently successful in achieving adoption.
Additionally, our innovators leaves TalentProjX:
With great friendships forged under the pressure of getting projects done as a team.
With a wider network of connections and potential mentors.
Part of the TalentProjX alumni network with access to events and resources organised to forge and strengthen bonds, provide knowledge and resources, and generate a support structure for launching change and entrepreneurial ventures.
